‘I’m on a mission to make 70 the new 50 for women!’ Angie Best flaunts her youthful looks in stunning swimsuit shoot to celebrate her birthday as she reveals how she stays in good health
Angie Best has said she is ‘on a mission to make 70 the new 50 for women’ as she celebrates the landmark birthday with a swimsuit photoshoot.
The former model and ex-wife of football star George Best was once the personal trainer for US singer Cher and now owns her own gym near her home in Henley-on-Thames.
She told Hello! magazine: ‘I’m on a mission to make 70 the new 50 for women.

‘Everything has changed. We girls don’t need to shrivel up and disappear into a corner just because we’re a certain age.
‘Rest assured, I have no intention of doing so. Like so many women out there, there’s a lot I still want to do.’
Angie insisted that the older she gets, the more determined she is to work hard at staying ‘healthy and youthful’, adding: ‘I want to get to 100 and still look good.’

Explaining how she goes about looking after herself, Angie said she uses ‘functional medicine’ which says if people want to be healthy, they have to be in good shape by having a nutritional diet while using the right supplements along with plenty of water.
Joining her on the photoshoot with Hello!, Angie’s reality TV star son Calum, her only child with Northern Irish footballer George, credited his mother with saving him from a lifestyle of alcohol and drugs which his late father was unable to overcome.
Reflecting on the death of his father, in 2005 at the age of 59, Calum said he had ‘so much love for my dad’ but pointed out that his dad chose ‘the party lifestyle’ while his mother looked after her health.

Admitting he was previously a bit of a ‘troublemaker’ Calum said he enjoyed partying in the past but credits his mother with showing him that looking after himself is the best way to live.
He said she has kept the theme of good health going for him throughout his life, adding that nobody can believe she’s now 70 years old after celebrating her birthday last month.
He concluded that he’s a a happier, healthier man’ because of Angie, adding that he’s ‘blessed’ to have her as a parent.
