Endeavor has added SVPs for financial communications and its Events, Experiences and Rights division, a well as promoting two comms execs, WME veteran Marie Sheehy and Tiffany Fang at corporate events.
Chad Tendler, the new SVP of Corporate and Financial Communications, now oversees all financial and internal communications for Endeavor. He was most recently director of communications for international video game and e-commerce platform Sea Limited. Previously, he was EVP and Cross-Border Lead at Edelman for the firm’s international financial communications practice and has worked in Beijing and Hong Kong for international media, financial services, and communications consulting firms.
Sarah Hird joins as SVP of Communications for Endeavor’s Events, Experiences and Rights segment, including IMG’s events and media businesses, On Location, Endeavor Streaming and OpenBet. Based in London, she joins with experience across entertainment and sports brand communications, including DAZN Group, where she was VP, Global Communications.
Previously, she was director of communications for Disney EMEA, helping launch Disney+ internationally. Most recently, Hird was SVP, Communications for BritBox International, the BBC and ITV-backed international streaming venture.
Sheehy is promoted to SVP overseeing all communications for Endeavor’s Representation segment, meaning WME (including its sports and fashion businesses), 160over90, IMG’s licensing business and Endeavor’s nonscripted content business. Based in LA, she has served as WME’s chief spokesperson since 2017 and worked on communications strategy for the merger of the William Morris Agency (which she joined in 2005) and Endeavor and major events from WME’s acquisition of IMG, Endeavor’s acquisition of UFC, and WME’s dispute and resolution with the WGA.
Sheehy has also advised a wide range of the agency’s clients on proactive and crisis communications and helped launch Endeavor Content (now Fifth Season), overseeing corporate communications for the studio.
Fang, with Endeavor since 2011, is now SVP of communications for Corporate Events and Creative, overseeing Endeavor’s global corporate events team, including tentpole industry events, client hospitality, corporate retreats, and sports and entertainment conferences. Under Fang’s leadership over the last five years, Endeavor, said, its corporate events team has tripled its portfolio, activating more than 200 events globally. He newly expanded role now includes oversight of Endeavor’s corporate creative and social media teams. She joined WME in 2011.
The moves come at a key moment for the company as Endeavor’s largest shareholder Silver Lake has said it’s preparing an proposal to take the company private. The company’s acquisition of WWE — merged along with UFC into a new public company called TKO — is being challenged by shareholders in Delaware Chancery Court.
