Champions League LIVE: Harry Kane and Bayern Munich look to bounce back from Leverkusen mauling as they travel to Lazio in last-16, while Kylian Mbappe and PSG host Real Sociedad

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to host

PSG are in the building, with Mbappe looking ludicrously French in the side’s custom pre-match Dior suits.

There’s been a lot of debate over Man City’s somewhat dubious Dsquared2 jackets. Unfortunately, Kylian and Co – dressed for a trip to the Elysee Palace – make them look very shabby indeed.

Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga trophy – for over a decade they’ve been inextricable. But Saturday night’s wake-up call shunted them further from the top spot as upstarts Bayer Leverkusen shored up their footing in a highly competitive title race.

For Kane – who travelled to Germany with trophies on his mind – this might seem unfathomable, particularly as he continues to snap up goalscoring records. But could Champions League glory be Bayern’s surest shot at silverware?

The atmosphere is already jumping inside Parc des Princes

During their home match over the weekend, the ultras held up banners calling on Paris’ mayor Anne Hidalgo to resign after it was announced that the French champions would not be allowed to buy their home since 1974 – and are set to leave in a bid to expand.

Could we see more tonight in a bid to catch eyeballs across Europe?

Where WILL Kylian Mbappe end up next season?

It feels like decades since rumblings first started that the talismanic France captain might move west to Real Madrid. He’s Paris Saint-Germain’s player for the moment, but scarcely a week passes without rumours that he might be happier playing elsewhere.

Who knows for sure? Not even France team-mate – and potential Real Madrid team-mate Aurelien Tchoumeni.

TEAM NEWS – in brief

Kylian Mbappe is back in the mix after being left out for the weekend’s tie against Lillie due to an ankle knock, and prodigal forward Warren Zaire-Emery comes back into the side.

For those unwilling to sit through the natty video posted by the club on social media, their line-up is as follows: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Pereira, Marquinhos, Beraldo, Zaire- Emery, Fabian, Vitinha, Dembele, Mbappe, Barcola.

Their opponents make four changes from the side that lost to Osasuna over the weekend, with Arsenal loanee Tierney continuing to miss out due to injury.

In Rome, Thomas Tuchel makes three tweaks with Eric Dier dropping to the bench, but his former Tottenham team-mate keeps his place leading the line for Bayern Munich.

Just one change from the other former Chelsea manager at Stadio Olimpico, as Maurizio Sarri brings in Matias Vecino for Danilo Cataldi.

Breaking: TEAM NEWS – How Lazio and Bayern Munich line up

Look sharp, Bayern! Harry Kane cut a despondent figure during the side’s hefty defeat to title-challengers Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend, and his manager has no wish to see lightning strike twice.

The key to success, Tuchel says, is giving the ball to Harry – you can read his pre-match thoughts in full below.

Breaking new ground in Paris

Surprisingly, tonight’s opponents at Parc des Princes have never met one another in competitive action, only facing off in four friendlies.

But Real Sociedad might be cheered by the lingering threat of nationality – PSG have exited the competition at the hands of Spanish opponents in five of their last six Champions League campaigns.

However… that could be cold comfort for the visitors. Sitting seventh in LaLiga having won just once in their last five league run-outs, they’re up against hosts on an intimidating 15-game winning streak.

Will we see an upset tonight?

Certainly, last night was pretty light on surprises.

Manchester City were level with Copenhagen at Parken for a spell, before bedding down and making sure they returned to the Etihad with a comfortable two-goal cushion.

Real Madrid too escaped the earliest of scares when Benjamin Sesko’s third-minute strike was chalked off by VAR, and went on to win 1-0 in Leipzig.

You can review Ian Ladyman’s report of last night’s action in Copenhagen below.

A sobering warning for the tourists

Last time out – Lazio versus Bayern Munich

Both sides met at the exact same stage just three years ago, but Maurizio Sarri – who joined the club at the end of that season – will hope for a different turn of events.

Again kicking off in Rome, the Bundesliga behemoth smashed their opponents 4-1 at Stadio Olimpico, and 2-1 on home soil.

Ahead of Real Sociedad’s trip to the French capital, Mail Sport’s Pete Jenson sat down with Arsenal loanee Kiernan Tierney to talk about his adventures in Spain – and new found love of Spanish cuisine.

Good evening!

Hello and welcome to Mail Sport’s live blog covering this week’s second evening of piping-hot Champions League action.

Kicking-off at 8pm sharp, Lazio will host Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, keen for an immediate bounce-back in Rome after Saturday night’s humbling against Bayer Leverkusen.

In Paris, the capital’s serial league-winners PSG welcome Real Sociedad, who will hope to be this year’s team that – inevitably? – halts Luis Enrique’s side’s European top flight run.
