Serena Williams is back on the tennis court today as the countdown on her illustrious career begins.

Williams, 40, used a Vanity Fair interview yesterday to announce her planned retirement, with this month’s US Open lined up to be her last ever tournament.

Before that, though, comes the Canadian Open. Williams won beat Spain’s Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in straight sets on Monday – her first win this year – and today faces Belinda Bencic, the Swiss 12th seed in Toronto.
