Tottenham outcast Tanguy Ndombele heads to Napoli ahead of loan move with an option to buy, as Spurs’ club-record signing looks to FINALLY end his north London nightmare

  • Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele is nearing a loan move to Italian side Napoli
  • The club-record signing has been outcast by Antonio Conte in recent weeks
  • Ndombele has struggled to assert himself into the Tottenham first-team

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has travelled to Italy ahead of a loan move to Napoli, that includes an option to buy.

The French midfielder had been excluded from Antonio Conte‘s training sessions as the club searched to resolve his transfer situation – having spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club Lyon.

But now it seems Spurs’ club-record signing can finally end his north London nightmare, as he nears a move to Serie A.

The Premier League side received a number of approaches for the Frenchman, with Villareal also interested in his services, but it seems that Napoli have prevailed.

Ndombele signed for Spurs in 2019 for a club-record fee of £65million but struggled to cement a place in the first-team under multiple different managers.

There seemed glimpses of hope for Ndombele’s Tottenham career during the tenure’s of Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo – but current boss Conte has not been interested in the Frenchman at all.

A disappointing performance at home to Morecambe in the FA Cup, where Ndombele was boo’d off the pitch by fans, was the final straw for the Italian.

The 24-year-old isn’t the only player facing an exit from north London this summer, with Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks all told to find new clubs.

Lo Celso is nearing a move to Villareal, where he spent last season on loan following Conte’s November arrival.

Sportsmail understands that Tottenham have received offers for the players deemed surplus to requirements, but have found difficulty in completing those deals due to hesitancy from individuals to commit to moves.
