Man United boss Erik ten Hag was seen heading for lunch in Cheshire on Monday afternoon, in the wake of his side’s miserable performance this weekend.

On Saturday, ten Hag watched on as the Red Devils were handed a shock defeat by Fulham, as Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey struck either side of Harry Maguire‘s finish.

It was a result that adds further pressure on ten Hag, who’s side now sit sixth in the league and eight points off Champions League qualification.

Following the defeat, ten Hag was spotted – with his wife Bianca – grabbing some food at a lush artisan brasserie in Cheshire.

Ten Hag headed to Junipers, in Hale, for lunch – where both he and his wife sported casual outfits as they headed into town.

Bianca opted for an all-beige outfit with a brown scarf, while ten Hag was in all-black – including a waterproof Adidas jacket.

At Junipers, customers can treat themselves to steak sandwiches, chicken souvlaki and seabass for the price of £18.

On their website, the chain is described as ‘a collection of artisan brasseries, serving an internationally inspired menu of fine food and beverages.’

Despite United’s disappointing defeat to Fulham, ten Hag still insisted the future is still bright for Manchester United.

The United boss said: ‘I said from the start of January, we are in finals. We won many and now we lost one.

‘After one defeat you have to see the bigger picture, and the bigger picture looks very good.

‘We have to catch up in certain positions and get the injuries back, then we will be more balanced and also strengthen the squad in the transfer windows.

‘You see there are many good players coming up and real high-potential players. They will be getting better so definitely we are going in the right direction. When we have the players available, we have a very good team.’

Ten Hag is no stranger to a meal out in Manchester, having been spotted out for dinner with his wife back in October.

The United boss cut a relaxed figure as he attended his favourite Italian restaurant Piccolino with Bianca, just days before their clash with Manchester City.

The couple went for an early dinner, but did not leave the restaurant until 8.10pm.

As Ten Hag left, the Dutchman held the entrance door open for his fellow diners, but one insisted he should leave first.
