Don Lemon sent ‘threatening texts’ to female colleague when she was sent to Iraq instead of him : INTERNEWSCAST

Don Lemon has again been accused of being a ‘misogynist’ after being ‘disrespectful’ to several members of staff – including CNN stalwarts Nancy Grace and Soledad O’Brien.

But the allegations this time date back to 2008 – years before he was accused of being sexist against GOP Candidate Nikki Haley by saying she ‘isn’t in her prime’.

Sources have told Variety that Lemon was rude to Grace on the air, and O’Brien during an editorial meeting attended by roughly 30 staffers.

It is also claimed that producers and supervisors had to pull Lemon off the air while he was co-anchoring CNN’s ‘Live From’ with Kyra Phillips because of his ‘provocative antics’.

Tensions reportedly mounted between the pair, to the point that Lemon is accused of ripping up notes and pictures of Phillips n the desk they shared.

Two sources told Variety that the incident happened while Phillips was on assignment in Iraq – something which Lemon had been disappointed to be passed over for.

He then reputedly sent her two text messages from an unknown number, saying, ‘Now you’ve crossed the line and you’re going to pay for it’.

Phillips asked CNN’s higher-ups to help identify the sender, with the messages eventually ebbing linked back to Lemon, sparking an internal investigation.

Despite findings never being disclosed to the wider staff, Lemon was reportedly pulled from his co-anchor role and ‘demoted’ to weekend work, according to Variety sources.

Working with Phillips was the last time he was paired with a female anchor until CNN decided to place him alongside Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow on CNN’s This Morning show.

Phillips, who joined ABC as a Washington-based correspondent in 2018, declined comment when approached by Variety.

A spokesperson for CNN told Variety: ‘Don says the alleged incident never occurred and that he was never notified of any investigation. CNN cannot corroborate the alleged events from 15 years ago.’
