Canadian man Michael Nixon, 54, and wife, Anurak, 47, are brutally stabbed to death with a 12-inch knife in a ‘parking dispute’ outside their Thailand home after neighbor grew furious their guests were blocking the front of his house

A Canadian man and his Thai wife were brutally stabbed to death by their neighbor ‘over a parking dispute’ in Thailand.

Michael Nixon, 54, from Canada, and partner Anurak, 47, had just finished entertaining friends at their home in Khon Kaen province when they were confronted by Kachornsak Panyadee, 36, at around 9 pm on December 14.

Kachornsak, who was allegedly fed up with the couple’s visitors blocking the front of his house, waited until the guests went home before marching over next door, armed with a 12-inch long knife.

When Anurak answered the door for him, he reportedly plunged the blade into her stomach before attacking Michael who rushed over to help his screaming wife.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Chaiwanich Khamlamool said cops received a report about the stabbing at 9 pm. They rushed to the scene, where Kachornsak was waiting to surrender himself.

The couple were found lying dead at the entrance of their one-story house. Michael had two stab wounds to the chest and another to his torso, while Anurak was stabbed in the abdomen.

Police detained Kachornsak, collected evidence and informed Anurak’s daughter Parichat Longsokchueak, 18, about the incident.

Speaking to police, the teenager said: ‘I don’t live with my parents, but I know my mom often argued with the neighbor regarding the parking.

‘The perpetrator may have been dissatisfied with my family for blocking the parking space. My mother also tends to speak loudly, so that may also be a reason for his actions.’

Police Colonel Preecha Kengsarikij, deputy commander of the Khon Kaen Provincial Police, said investigations found that Kachornsak, a crepe vendor at a local market, had often bickered with the couple over the parking area.

The cop said: ‘On the day of the incident, many foreign friends came to visit the house of the deceased. While the suspect was passing by coming home from work, he said he heard Michael’s voice inside the house saying ‘f*** you, f*** you’.

‘He believed he was being insulted, so he went home to drink his anger away.. But when the visitors left, he took a knife and attacked his neighbors.

‘He said he carried out the killings while he was boiling with anger. He has admitted murdering them and will now face the legal proceedings.’

Pirachai Puttasen, a village official who knew the deceased, said they were planning to move to another house in Pattaya on December 20.

Authorities said Kachornsak has been charged with murder after admitting stabbing the husband and wife. He was detained in police custody pending prosecution.
