Marcus Rashford was involved in a furious 3am bust-up with a French woman after his tequila bender in Belfast – and threw her out of the room they were staying in.

In chaotic scenes after his 12-hour drinking session, the Manchester United ace chucked the brunette woman’s clothes into the corridor after she accused him of cheating on her.

Shocked guests at the five-star hotel in Northern Ireland said they were woken by the woman raging as Rashford ordered her out of their room.

Rashford’s mystery companion accused him of kissing another woman at a nightclub earlier in the evening.

Witnesses told MailOnline she picked up her belongings from the corridor floor and marched down to reception and demanded a separate room from the Premier League star.

A hotel source told MailOnline it was ‘strange’ because Rashford paid for everything at the hotel with wads of cash he carried in a duffel bag.

‘Marcus and his group came back to the hotel sometime after 2am and went up to his suite,’ they said.

‘He was with a woman who I thought was his girlfriend who was staying with him.

‘But all of a sudden there was a lot of noise and raised voices when she apparently started accusing him of kissing another woman at Thompsons Garage nightclub.

‘She was shouting at him and accusing him of not respecting her. Rashford’s security got involved and got her out of the suite – and wouldn’t let her back in.

‘Guests were woken by the noise. Rashford himself then threw all her stuff out into the corridor – and closed the door on her.

‘She ended up having to come to reception in tears asking for a separate room.

‘Rashford clearly enjoyed himself in Belfast but the strange thing was he was paying for everything out of wads of cash he kept in a duffel bag.

Rashford, 26, booked a suite costing £1,500 a night at Belfast’s Fitzwilliam Hotel on Wednesday night. He stayed on Thursday night.

At 5.30am on Friday Rashford flew back to Manchester on a private jet and phoned his club at 8am to say he was too ill to train.

The bust-up with his French companion confirms that Rashford’s relationship with childhood sweetheart and on/off girlfriend Lucy Loi is definitely over following speculation in November that the pair were getting back together.

Rashford will today face his ‘furious’ teammates for the first time since showdown talks on Monday with United manager Erik ten Hag and football director John Murtough in which he had ‘taken responsibility for his actions’.

On Tuesday it was revealed how the club were willing to offer the player counselling.

There have been concerns over Rashford’s dramatic loss of form this season, and former Premier League strikers Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer expressed their alarm over the revelations surrounding the 12-hour tequila binge in Belfast.

United are taking the situation very seriously and are committed to supporting Rashford physically and mentally through another dark period.

The club say professional help is available to the player, although it is up to Rashford if he wants to accept it.

Manchester United legends David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, and Rio Ferdinand have been rallying around the star and offering support and guidance after United staff reportedly raised concerns about his recent behaviour.

It is understood Rooney was ‘happy’ to get in touch with his former teammate after being asked to intervene by ‘people around’ Rashford, according to The Sun.

While Beckham and Ferdinand have reached out to offer advice after United staff had become fearful over a ‘series of worrying allegations’ over Rashford’s behaviour.

Speaking on his Five podcast on Monday, Ferdinand said Rashford wasn’t behaving like an ‘elite’ sportsman.

‘You have to have that self-awareness… “am I putting myself in a position where people could pick at me?” or “I could be tripped over here”,’ he said.

‘So if you are going to go in on a Friday training session and arrive back that morning, that’s not really – if you are talking about elite sportsman – is that the right prep? That’s the first question that I ask. I’d say no.’

Gary Neville, speaking on BBC Sport, opened up on how he thought Sir Alex Ferguson would have handled the incident, the latest involving Rashford on a night out.

‘He would have given him a dressing down, Neville told the BBC. ‘But he would have said similar things – make sure you do it at the right moments, the right time.’

Neville has warned that the player needs to be ‘careful’ and that he should focus on his football in a bid to return to his best.

‘To me, going out for a drink or going out for a night out is something that every football player will do and should do so I’ve got no problem with that whatsoever,’ Neville added. ‘They need to enjoy themselves.

‘It’s just all about choices and timing. Manchester United have just had a winter break. They’ve had a couple of weeks off so there was a better moment for him to choose to go out. I would say, go out and have your moment where you relax with your friends, but your timing has to be right.

‘Marcus himself knows – he’s an experienced player now, we’re not talking about a young lad – but he’s done it a couple of times in the last few months.’

While former United striker Dimitar Berbatov also raised concerns.

‘There is no excuse for it,’ the Bulgarian told Betfair. ‘I’d like to find an excuse because I’ll always try to defend the players because I’ve been there.

‘I know how it is, what it sometimes takes from you. You want to relax – and you can do it – but only if you don’t skip training the next day.

‘From what I understand, he was not sick. It sounds like he didn’t feel confident and fit enough to go to training, which doesn’t look good for him in a professional way.

‘First and foremost, you’re a footballer and this is your number one priority, no matter what, you need to be at training when you’re not sick or you don’t have family problems.’

He added: ‘If you go partying and then the next day you don’t go to training then I don’t see how I can defend this behaviour.’

Berbatov said it is imperative that United get to the bottom of why Rashford is acting this way or he risks ‘not going in the right direction’.
